UML Chair Oli calls Central Committee meeting for Tuesday

Task force meeting ends

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has called a meeting of the Central Committee (CC) at 11 am in Baluwatar for Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court (SC) is expected to rule on the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) Monday.

Party central office Secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang sent notifications to all central members regarding the CC meeting. However, he did not disclose the agenda of the meeting.

Also, the UML has also scheduled a Standing Committee meeting at 5 pm Monday.

Meanwhile, the dispute resolution task force of the party stuck a 10-point deal.

The task force meeting that was underway at Finance Ministry in Singha Durbar since 9 am has ended. Two leaders — Ghanshyam Bhusal and Bishnu Poudel — who left the meeting earlier in the evening joined the meeting later.

Task force members emerged out of the meeting venue and read out the 10-point deal but did not answer the media queries in detail.

Disputes surfaced in UML after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli dissolved the House of Representatives on May 23 for the second time at a time when a 10-member task force formed at the consensus of Chair Oli and senior leader Nepal on May 16 was working to resolve disputes.

As many as 23 lawmakers close to leader Nepal signed the petition calling to make opposition leader Sher Bahadur Deuba the Prime Minister. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and UML Chairman called to withdraw the signatures but the disgruntled faction have denied doing so.
