Three arrested in Banke with red panda hide, bear bile



BARDIA: Three people have been arrested with the hide of a red panda and the bile of a bear from a guest house in Banke.

Banke police have arrested Bhakta Bahadur Pun, 49, Keshav Pun, 41, and Rovin Budha, 29, of Dang Ghorahi Sub-Metropolis-4.

Police said that they were arrested from Rapti Guest House at Pushpalal Chowk in Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolis-1 on Saturday evening.

Banke Police Chief SP Shyam Krishna Adhikari said that they also recovered the hide of a red panda (Habre) in a black bag kept in a room on the ground floor of the hotel.

They were arrested by an investigation team from the Lumbini State Police Office, Dang, and a joint police team from the District Police Office, Banke. Police are conducting further investigation.
