NC leader Nepali reaches Gandaki Governor’s office to stake claim to CM’s office



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Krishna Chandra Nepali has reached the Office of Gandaki Province Chief to stake his claim to the post of Chief Minister.

Also Gandaki NC Parliamentary Party (PP) leader, Nepali reached the governor’s office Friday along with lawmakers of his party, CPN-Maoist Center, Rastriya Janamorcha, Janata Samajwadi Party and independent lawmaker Rajiv Gurung alias Deepak Manange.

Nepali, stating he has the required majority of 31 lawmakers, submitted his claim to the governor. All 31 lawmakers were present with Nepali at the governor’s office. Nepali has the support of 15 lawmakers of the Nepali Congress, 11 of the CPN-Maoist Center, 2 of Rastriya Janamorcha, 2 of Janata Samajwadi Party and one independent.

Earlier, Gandaki Governor Sita Kumari Poudel solicited claims, pursuant to Article 168 (5) of the constitution, for the appointment of a Chief Minister in the province after CM Prithvi Subba Gurung lost the Provincial Assembly’s vote of confidence on Thursday.
