KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Ganesh Lama, who was arrested Thursday from Lakeside in Pokhara, has been released after paying a fine of Rs 3,000.
According to Kaski District Administration Office, three persons, including Lama, were arrested Thursday and released after penalizing them Rs 3,000 each. Lama was arrested on the charge of violating prohibitory order.
Lama was in Pokhara seeking Provincial Assembly (PA) member Rajiv Gurung alias Deepak Manange’s support to the opposition alliance in vote of confidence motion tabled by Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung in the PA Thursday.
Meanwhile, the NC protested Lama’s arrest.
