Covid in Delhi: Negative test report must for those coming from Maharashtra

NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has announced restrictions in light of the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in India’s capital.

According to the instruction, the measures will remain in force till April 30.

Reports said it is mandatory for a person travelling to Delhi from Maharashtra to carry a negative RT-PCR report dated 72 hours prior to arrival.

Travellers without a negative report will be placed in quarantine for 14 days.

Delhi on Saturday recorded as many as 7,897 new cases of coronavirus infection.

Likewise, the limit for guests at wedding functions has been revised to 50, India Today reported.

Similarly, only 20 people will be allowed to attend the last rites of an individual, it said.

Bars and restaurants will only be allowed to operate at 50 per cent capacity for now.

For cinema halls, the Delhi government has restricted operations to 50 per cent of seating capacity.

Similarly, stadiums will be allowed to host events without spectators.

Coaches of the Delhi Metro are allowed to ply with only 50 per cent of seating capacity till April 30.
