Dailekh accident update: Death toll reaches two



DAILEKH: One more person has died in the road accident occurred at Duikuna in Dailekh district this morning.

The accident involving a microbus took place along the Karnali Highway. The microbus (Karnali Province 02001 Kha 247) coming to Surkhet from Kalikot district met with the accident this morning at Aathbis Municipality-1.

The District Police Office Dailekh identified the dead as 37-year-old Jitendra Bahadur Shahi of Bharta, Shuvakalika rural municipality and 21-year-old Kamal BK of Naraharinath rural municipality, Kalikot district.

Three police persons were also injured in the mishap. Among them, Ramesh Chaudhari is said to be in serious condition.

Among the 21 passengers traveling by the ill-fated microbus, two have died and 11 of the injured have been taken to Surkhet for treatment while three are being treated at the local medical.

The condition of two of the 11 is said to be serious. It is said the microbus had veered off the road and fell 100 metres down due to overspeed.
