KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has come down heavily on the Oli-led government saying that it exhibited its true characteristics by arresting leader Ram Kumar Jhakri.
Speaking at a gathering of Nepal Magar Sangh organized at the central party headquarters in Peris Danda today, Prachanda said the government was trying to arrest Jhakri yesterday itself but the party intervened in it.
“The government was trying to arrest Ram Kumari Jhakri yesterday itself on the charge of making comments on the president. We have heard that she has been arrested today,” said Prachanda, adding, “The party will take a decision on it shortly.”
Meanwhile, he has accused the government of attacking the federal republican political system and secularism. “The arrest of Jhakri is evidence of such acts of the government,” he said.
