Special Court orders to jail Dhakal over Lalita Niwas land grab case



KATHMANDU: The Special Court has issued an order to put Dr Shobha Kanta Dhakal into imprison over the Lalita Niwas land grab scam.

A joint bench of judges Abdul Aziz Musalman, Balendra Rupakheti, Chandra Bahadur Saru issued the order to this effect on Wednesday.

On February 5, 2020, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a case at the Special Court against 175 individuals including Dhakal.

The anti-graft body in the case had sought a fine of Rs 392,800,000 from Dhakal for his involvement in transferring 136 ropanis of land in the names of individuals out of 299 belonging to Lalita Niwas.
