Best option to go to polls: RPP Chair Thapa

GORKHA: President of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Kamal Thapa has said the best option now was to go for polls, as the parliament was already dissolved.

Speaking at a program organized by the party on the occasion of 299th Prithivi Jayanti here today, he said seeking a fresh mandate is the best alternative to resolving the current political crisis.

It will also be good to go for polls to resolve the political problems, address corruption and religious conversion, he said. “This is also the political approach and official view of the RPP,” Thapa said.

Stating that there was no point in taking to the streets in favor and against the dissolution of the parliament, he said the step taken by the Prime Minister has added to constitutional complexities. The right is now with the
Supreme Court to interpret the lack of clarity seen in the Constitution.

The dissolution of the parliament has in fact shed light on the dispute and ambiguity in the Constitution of Nepal. He also emphasized the need to stay away from commenting on a case sub judice in the apex court.
