Foreign Ministry refutes reports on ‘recalling ambassadors’

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that its attention has been drawn towards reports in some media outlets about the government doing homework for recalling ambassadors.

Issuing a statement on Monday, the Ministry refuted reports as false.

The Ministry urges all concerned to publish the news only after ascertaining the facts from the official body before disseminating news on such sensitive issues, reads the statement.

Media reports on Sunday had claimed that the homework of recalling the ambassadors of different countries in the name of performance appraisal has started following a split in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

The reports had added that ambassadors of some countries including Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, and Denmark close to the NCP Prachanda-Nepal faction are being recalled.
