Energy Minister Rayamajhi inspects under construction Tanahun Hydropower Project



TANAHU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Top Bahadur Rayamajhi today carried out a field inspection of the under construction Tanahun Hydropower Project at Rishing Rural Municipality-1 in Tanahun district.

On the occasion, the project managing director Pradip Thike and the project chief Achyut Ghimire apprised minister Rayamajhi of progress and activities of the project.

Under the package-2 of the project undertaken by Sinohydro Company, construction of power house, main entrance tunnel, a tunnel to search track and embankments is underway, it has been said.

Under package-3, minister Rayamajhi was apprised of the construction of transmission line, which has been undertaken by KEC International.

The project, which costs USD 505 million, produces 178.90 megawatts electricity during dry season and 323.68 megawatts during rainy season.

The minister was accompanied by Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning of Gandaki, National Assembly member Bhagawati Neupane and member of the dissolved House of Representatives Krishna Kumar Shrestha.
