NC played laudable role for democratic and political changes: KP Oli

Says UML is ready to collaborate with NC

KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has hailed the laudable role played by Nepali Congress (NC) in democratic and political movement of the country and expressed UML’s commitment for collaboration with it ahead.

Addressing the inaugural session of NC’s 14th General Convention, the UML Chair remarked that NC always played a lead role in the democratic movements in the country.

“We have made great achievements from removing Rana rule to establishing democracy,” UML Chair Oli recalled, adding, “Political parties have shouldered the responsibility of development of the nation and the NC is an important pillar of achievements made in the country.”

Responding to CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Prachanda’s request to NC President Deuba to strengthen the ruling alliance ahead, former Prime Minister Oli said, sarcastically, that some small parties are dreading about their fate if they have to go alone. “I wonder what some smaller parties would do if the NC doesn’t carry them with it,” the UML chair said.

Hinting at the activities the royalists are carrying out to restore monarchy in the country, former Prime Minister Oli said that there is no space for family rule in the country now.
