NC leader Nidhi floats the idea of making Ram Chandra Poudel as consensus Presidential candidate

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Bimalendra Nidhi, who is also a party presidential candidate, has proposed to make senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel the consensus President of the party.

Nidhi’s proposal has given a twist in the power equation at a time when the party’s 14th General Convention is beginning today.

Speaking at a program on Friday, Nidhi said that there would be justice for Poudel and the message of unity would be conveyed to the party.

Nidhi said, “It is important to send a message of unity within the party.”

He added, “If Poudel is to be made the unanimous party President, I will have no objection.”
