KATHMANDU: Defense Minister Minendra Rijal has announced his candidacy for the post of general secretary of Nepali Congress.
Organization a press meet on Naxal on Friday, Minister Rijal has announced that he will file his candidacy for the post of general secretary in the 14th general convention of Nepali Congress.
“The NC should get a new leadership through the general convent. My role will be important in the leadership change in the party,” said Rijal.
On a different note, Minister Rijal said that he will the incumbent government will continue until the local elections.
Talking to the press meet, Rijal claimed that Deuba will become an immediate past president once the vote count result is over.
Rijal is considered close to Poudel faction.
