NC leader Singh rules out relevancy of political mechanism

KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepali Congress leader Prakash Man Singh has said that the political coordination committee formed by the ruling coalition has lost its relevancy.

Commenting on the committee, leader Singh has said that the committee has no relevancy during a program organized on the occasion of 107th birth anniversary of Ganesh Man Singh in Kathmandu this morning.

“This coordination committee is not necessary. It seems above the government and is against the constitution and the democratic norms and values,” said Singh.

An election political coordination committee comprising two representatives from each ruling party and one minister from the government had been formed. NC senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel is the coordinator of the committee.

Singh said the government will run the country even if it is a coalition government and added that the political coordination committee is not required.
