Minister Hamal, criticized for being appointed from CJ Rana’s quota, resigns



KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Gajendra Bahadur Hamal, who was criticized for being appointed from the “quota” of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana, has submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Sunday.

He asserted that he resigned on his own wish.

Hamal handed over the resignation letter to Prime Minister Deuba at Baluwatar this morning.

Minister Hamal was criticized for becoming a minister from the quota of Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana.

Prime Minister Deuba had inducted Hamal, who is not an elected Member of the Parliament, as the Industry Minister.
