KATHMANDU: The traffic police has begun a ‘no-horn sticker campaign’ on Tuesday as part of its larger ‘no-horn campaign’.
Traffic police began the ‘no-horn sticker campaign’ after the use of horn by vehicles rose inside the valley of late. Kathmandu Valley was declared a ‘no-horn zone’ on April 14, 2017.
As part of their campaign, traffic police pasted the sticker of ‘no-horn please’ on the windshield of vehicles plying the roads in the valley.
For the campaign’s overall effectiveness, 38 traffic police offices began the ‘no-horn sticker campaign’ Tuesday by pasting some 50,000 stickers on random vehicles plying valley roads.
Traffic police also urged vehicle owners not to blow horn unnecessarily citing negative impacts of noise, which is created by vehicles, on human health and environment.
