UML leader Nepal assures by-election win for 4 lawmakers dismissed from Karnali PA

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML’s senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has assured four lawmakers, who crossed the floor and were later dismissed from the Provincial Assembly (PA) following party action in Karnali, victory if by-election was to be held for their posts.

In a program attended by one of the four dismissed lawmakers — Amber Bahadur Thapa — on Tuesday, leader Nepal said they were right to oppose wrong practice and hence had to lose their seats in Karnali PA.

“I have told you if your party membership is revoked and a by-election is held, then I will ensure your win so that you will get your lawmaker’s post back,” he said.

On the party’s dispute, he said he would not bow in front of anyone. “We will march ahead by defeating those who are arrogant and have gone astray,” he added.
