Dhanusha’s Hari Narayan Yadav approaches EC to register RJP in his name

KATHMANDU: Hari Narayan Yadav of Dhanusha has approached the Election Commission (EC) for registration of the then Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) Nepal, which was led by Mahantha Thakur, under his chairmanship.

The move comes at a time when the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) is set to split, and Thakur was gathering documents to register the party. Thakur was collecting documents to register the party after it seemed that the EC was likely to recognize Upendra Yadav led JSP.

Sources claimed that Upendra Yadav instructed Hari Narayan to register the party Friday in his name to deprive Thakur from claiming the RJP as well.

Upendra Yadav led Samajwadi Party (SP) and Thakur led RJP had merged to form the JSP; however, they have decided to split.
