PM Oli to hold cabinet meeting at 6 pm



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has called a cabinet meeting today.

The meeting will take place at 6 pm following the swearing-in ceremony. Prime Minister Oli has appointed eight ministers including a state minister today.

They are taking oath of office and secrecy at 4 pm at Baluwatar. The meeting is a regular meeting, according to Baluwatar sources.

Prime Minister Oli is making preparations to appoint Khaga Raj Adhikari as the Home Minister and Naina Kala Thapa as the Minister for Communication and Information Technology, sources have said.

Thapa is the wife of former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa alias Badal.

Similarly, Narad Muni Rana will be appointed as the Minister for Forest and Environment, Jwala Kumari Shah as the Minister for Agriculture, Raj Kishor Yadav as the Minister for Industry and Ganesh Pahadi as the Minister for General Administration.

It is learnt that Prime Minister Oli himself will look after the Ministry of Defense portfolio.

Likewise, Asha BK will be appointed as the Minister of State for Forest. The other leader to be appointed as the minister without portfolio is Mohan Baniya.

All the ministers will take oath of office and secrecy today evening itself.
