PM Oli picks Pahadi as minister from Nepal-Khanal faction

KATHMANDU: Out of eight ministers being inducted today, Prime Minister Oli has picked  Ganesh Pahadi, a lawmaker from Nepal-Khanal.

Pahadi has been picked as the Minister for Communication and Information Technology after Surendra Pandey, Yogesh Bhattarai, and Gokarna Bista from Nepal-Khanal faction denied becoming the minister, sources have said.

Elected twice to the House of Representatives (HoR) from Sindhuli, Pahadi was among 28 lawmakers who remained absent during the confidence motion of Prime Minister Oli.

But, he did not sign the writ petition proposing Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba as the prime minister.

Gokarna, Yogesh, Ganesh and Pabitra Niraula had not signed the writ from the Nepal-Khanal faction.
