COVID-19 cases surge in 10 districts due to lockdown relaxation

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has urged people to take health precautions saying that the cases of COVID-19 are spreading in villages in an alarming rate, of late.

The spokesperson at the Ministry Dr Krishna Prasad Paudel said the cases are surging in the villages even though they are gradually subsiding in urban areas.

Over 500 active cases are in over 46 districts, currently. Of them, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Jhapa, Rupandehi, Kailali and Chitwan have bit the hardest with most number of cases.

In the last two weeks, the number of cases surged in an alarming rate in Panchtar, Okhaldhunga, Tehrathum, Siraha, Sindhupalchowk, Nuwakot, Nawalparasi East, Rolpa, Rukum West and Darchula.
