Govt sets June 14 for renewal of online media



KATHMANDU: The government has set June 14 as the deadline for the renewal of the online media.

In a notice, Hari Prasad Basyal, the secretary at the Home Ministry, said those online media that failed to get their licenses renewed by January 13 have to get them done by June 14.

On March 28, 2018, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology had issued a notice in the national gazette in line with the Section 6 (1) of the Online Media Operation Directives, 2073.

The online media registered in accordance with the Section 5 of the Directives, have to get their licenses renewed within six months from the expiry date of every fiscal year (June 13).
