Prachanda-Nepal faction staging ‘huge mass assembly’ today

Rallies to be taken out from five different places

KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is staging a huge mass assembly in the Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday.

The disgruntled faction will take out rallies against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) from five different places prior to converging into a mass meeting at Bhrikuti Mandap.

Talking to Khabarhub, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the spokesperson of the NCP, said the rallies will be taken out from Pulchowk, Tripureshwor, Maitighar Mandala, Kaiser Mahal, and Jamal and a huge mass assembly will be held at Bhrikuti Mandap.

Leaders including Krishna Bahadur Mahara and Pampha Bhushal will lead the rally to Sundhara via Pulchowk, Kupondole, Thapathali, and Tripureshwor.

Astalaxmi Shakya, Ghanshyam Bhushal, Chakrapani Khanal, Janardan Sharma, and Mukunda Neupane will lead the rally from Tripureshwor.

Amrit Kumar Bohara, Ganesh Shah, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, Bhim Acharya, and others will lead the rally from Maitighar.

Dev Gurung, Devendra Poudel, Bhim Rawal, and Shakti Basnet will lead the rally from Kaiser Mahal, while the rally from Jamal will be led by Lilamani Pokharel and others.

The faction organized a march-past ahead of the protest assembly against House dissolution on Tuesday.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction has been demonstrating after Prime Minister Oli dissolved the HoR on December 20 stating that the House dissolution is unconstitutional, anti-democratic and against the mandate of the people.
