KATHMANDU: CPN-UML is holding a central committee (CC) meeting on December 11 and 12 in the Kathmandu Valley.
To be held at German Party Palace in Bhaktapur, the two-day CC meeting will dwell on 15 different agenda items, informed CC member Sher Bahadur Tamang.
The CC meeting will administer oath of office and secrecy to the remaining CC members, review the recently held 10th general convention, nominate to the CC, form standing committee (SC), politburo and central advisory council among others.
The meeting will begin at 11 am. UML had been holding CC meetings at Tulsi Lal Memorial Foundation in Chyasal, Lalitpur prior to the general convention.
The CC meeting is being shifted to Bhaktapur from Chyasal since the number of CC members increased to 301 following the 10th general convention.
UML will have a 45-member SC and a 99-politburo as per its statute. The party’s 10th General Convention has elected a 301-member CC including 19 office-bearers.
Meanwhile, UML leaders are lobbying the top leaders and knocking their doors to curry favor to become SC and politburo members.
