Govt replaces governors in Province 1, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces

KATHMANDU: The government has replaced governor of three provinces.

A cabinet meeting held on Monday decided to replace governors of Province 1, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

It has been decided to appoint Parashuram Khapung as governor in Province 1, Tilak Pariyar in Karnali and Devraj Joshi in Sudurpaschim Province.

The ruling coalition seemed to have distributed the portfolio of governor as Khapung is with the Janata Samajbadi Party, Pariyar with the Maoist Center and Joshi from the Nepali Congress.

Earlier, Somnath Prasad ‘Pyasi’ was the governor in Province 1, Govinda Prasad Kaluni in Karnali and Ganga Prasad Yadav in Sudurpaschim.
