KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada has pointed out the need for organizational restructuring of the Drug Administration Department.

The Department’s scope would be made wider by adding quota for employees, he said, adding that the Ministry was holding discussions on how the price of medicine could be adjusted in a scientific manner.

The medicine price would be adjusted to make it reasonable to all.

Health Secretary Dr Roshan Pokhrel also stressed the need of augmenting quota for employees so that the Department could function well.

Director General at the Department, Narayan Dhakal, said that lack of human resources had hindered the monitoring of medicine. There are only 76 employees in the Department now.
