Financial assistance to COVID-19-hit families

KAVRE: The Mandandeupur Municipality of Kavrepalanchok has provided cash assistance to the families, who lost their loved ones to COVID-19. At a program on Friday, the Municipality provided cash assistance of Rs. 50,000 each to 18 families.

Health Unit Officer at the Municipality Deepak Ghimire said that the financial support was distributed to the families who lost members to COVID-19 infection in the municipality. According to the health unit, 26 people, including four who died in the first wave and 22 in the second wave, died while undergoing treatment at hospitals in and outside the district.

The assistance has been distributed to the families of 18 people and the remaining will also receive the support following recommendation of the concerned ward office.

Mayor Tok Bahadur Waiba said that the municipality has provided all possible assistance to those who have been affected by the pandemic. We have also provided relief to the bereaved families.

Similarly, Rs. 25,000 will be provided to the patients from the needy families and who had to be treated with the help of a ventilator, said Waiba.
