Dhanusha acid attack: Husband declared guilty

JANAKPURDHAM: The Dhanusha District Court has convicted a husband for attacking his wife with acid.

A single bench of Krishna Murari Shiwakoti, on Monday, declared Sanjeev Sah, the victim’s husband guilty of acid attack.

Similarly, the court has offered clean chit to Nagendra Sah, the trader who had sold acid to the accused.

Sanjeev Sah, 26, had attacked his wife Aarti Sah and daughter Riya with acid on November 4, 2020.

Victim Arati and her daughter were living at her parental home at the time and the convict had visited there to attack them.

After the incident, the Public Prosecutor’s Office had filed an indictment in the District Court, Dhanusha, demanding 15 years and six months imprisonment for Aarti’s husband and acid seller Nagendra Sah.

The attorney had demanded punishment for three offenses, including mutilation, ugly and integrated offenses against both the accused.

Aarti had lost sight of her right eye and had suffered severe injury on various parts, including on neck, chest and breasts.

Her daughter Riya had sustained scars on her right hand and head in the acid attack.
