Police nab three with Rs 993,000 counterfeit Nepali currency in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT: Police have arrested three persons with fake Nepali rupee worth Rs 993,000.

According to Rautahat Police sources, the arrested are Shatrudhan Barai Thakur, 38, of Batteshwor-4, Dhanusha, Ranjit Mahato, 30, of Bardiwas Municipality-9, Pashupatinagar, Mahottari and Dipendra Kumar Mahato, 25, of Bhangah Municipality-4, Premnagar, Mahottari.

They were arrested on Sunday evening with fake notes from Ishanath-4, Kalimandir.

The police claimed that it nabbed the alleged with the counterfeit Nepali notes of Rs 1,000 with them while they were on their way to Nepal from India on foot.

The further investigation in the incident is underway, the police said.
