NA CoAS Thapa goes on leave starting today

KATHMANDU:  Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) of the Nepal Army Purna Chandra Thapa is going on a leave from today.

CoAS Thapa, who is retiring from September 9, is taking the leave one month earlier as per the rules of the Nepal Army.

Lieutenant General Chief of Staff (CoS) Prabhu Ram Sharma has been appointed as the acting COAS of the NA.

A cabinet meeting held on July 27 had decided to recommend the President to appoint Sharma as the acting CoAS.

Thapa had been appointed as the CoAS of the Nepal Army on September 18, 2075.
