KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML task force meeting is underway in a bid to hammer out the long-overdue intraparty differences on Friday.
The UML task force that sat Thursday evening concluded its meeting by agreeing to meeting Friday at 11 am. However, the meeting started a bit late than the scheduled time.
Leaders of both the factions are presenting draft reports that carry their views in the meeting underway at the Ministry of Finance in Singha Durbar, a UML leader said.
The task force sat for discussion Thursday morning also and met briefly in the evening at the Finance Ministry. Task force members were optimistic about a consensus after Thursday morning meeting and had scheduled another meet in the evening.
Leader Ghanshyam Bhusal informed that the meeting is scheduled to be held at 11 am Friday. He said there was not much progress in the meeting.
Giving a brief response to the media after the meeting, Bhusal said, “We have not been able to make much progress for the last ten days.”
The meeting held yesterday evening is said to have discussed the draft resolution prepared by Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal and Deputy General Secretary Bishnu Poudel for consensus between the warring factions.
