Gandaki CM prepares to announce mid-term elections on Thursday



POKHARA: Gandaki Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung is likely to announce mid-term elections on Thursday, sources close to him have said.

CM Gurung is likely to announce the mid-term if he fails to get a vote of confidence on Thursday.

According to Article 168 (3) of the Constitution, Gurung, who was re-elected as the Chief Minister on the basis of a major party, is preparing to announce the mid-term elections.

Article 168 (5) of the Constitution states, “If the Chief Minister appointed pursuant to Clause (3) fails to get a vote of confidence under Clause (4), any member pursuant to Clause (2) may obtain a vote of confidence in the State Assembly.”
