Government failed to treat COVID-19 patients: NC Senior leader Poudel

KATHMANDU: Senior Nepali Congress (NC) leader Ram Chandra Poudel has criticized the government for failing to provide ventilators to treat COVID-19 patients.

Poudel said the government was not serious about preventing and controlling the coronavirus pandemic, alleging the government for shying away from its responsibility to vaccinate people against coronavirus.

Taking to social media, he also alleged the government for failing to fulfill its commitment to vaccinate all Nepalis within three months.

“The government has fallen prey to commissions and corruption and has shied away from the obligation to provide vaccines to citizens in an accessible manner,” Poudel.

“The condition of the patients at different hospitals proves that the government has failed to provide necessary beds, ICUs, ventilators, oxygen, manpower and isolation for the treatment of the infected people,” he said.
