UPDATE: Two more bodies recovered from Karnali river

KARNALI: Police have recovered two more bodies of the five who had gone missing after jumping into the Karnali River.

Bodies of Suku Baduwal, 35, and her eight-year-old son Lalit were found on Tuesday afternoon, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Anupam Shrestha.

Likewise, the bodies of Kalpana Baduwal, 15, and Sarita, 12, were recovered near Achham’s Panchadeval Municipality on Monday.

Locals and police have been searching for a girl who went missing into the Karnali River.

Sunita of Aathbish Municipality-3 of Dailekh’s had jumped into Karnali River in an attempt to commit suicide along with her four children after a dispute with her husband.

Police said that Sunita’s husband Mansingh was held on Monday itself and investigations were initiated from the Rakam-based Area Police Office.

Suku along with her kids had moved to her maternal home on Monday morning.

Relatives of the Baduwal family had initiated a search for Suku and her kids after they did not reach to Suku’s maternal home.

However, Deputy Mayor of Aathbis Municipality Dipa Bohora assumed that Suku and her kids jumped into the river by being disappointed with her husband, who used to torture and beat her almost every day after consuming alcohol.
