5.4-magnitude quake jolts eastern Nepal



KATHMANDU: A 5.4-magnitude earthquake has struck eastern Nepal with its epicenter in Olangchung Gola on Tuesday morning.

According to National Seismological Center, Lainchaur, the earthquake was recorded at 7:35 am in Faktanglung rural municipality of Taplejung.

The tremors have been felt in Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha and Tehrathum aside from Taplejung district, sending people outdoors, said locals. However, no casualties have been reported so far, said District Police Office (DPO), Taplejung.

Earlier, a 4.5-magnitude earthquake had struck in Taplejung on February 5.
