Home Minister Khand urges UML to let HoR function smoothly

JANAKPURDHAM: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has urged the main opposition CPN-UML to allow the House of Representatives (HoR) to run smoothly.

Talking to the media at Janakpurdham Airport on Monday, Minister Khand said that the UML had stalled the HoR after the ruling coalition, including the Nepali Congress (NC), came to power. “I request the UML to let the House proceeding move forward.”

He said that the House should function properly so that bills could pass quickly and the government’s working mechanism to improve. He added the government’s bid to pass the citizenship bill was also failing due to the obstruction of the House.

Stating that the three organs of judiciary, executive and legislature are independent, he said the current dispute seen in the judiciary was sensitive and the government wanted it to be resolved at the earliest.
