NC delegation holds meeting with Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar



KATHMANDU: A Nepali Congress (NC) delegation on a visit to India has met Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar Friday.

A team of NC leaders led by Joint General Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat called on the Foreign Minister Jaishankar this afternoon. During the meeting, the NC delegation discussed various issues related to Nepal-India ties.

Leader Mahat said the talks were very fruitful and they touched upon various issues related to Nepal-India border, the recent Tuin incident on the Mahakali River, COVID-19 issue and issues related to the ties between the two countries.

He said that he had briefed External Affairs Minister Jaishankar on the recent border issue between the two countries and urged him to seek immediate solution through diplomatic channels to resolve the border issue. He added the Indian Foreign Minister took his proposals positively.

The three-member NC delegation includes Mahat, Udaya Shumsher Rana and Ajaya Kumar Chaurasiya. The delegation is also scheduled to meet Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) President Jagat Prakash Nadda at BJP party office later Friday.
