Parliament meeting underway in New Baneswor

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Federal Parliament is underway in New Baneswor, Kathmandu.

The government is scheduled to table fifteen ordinances, including the ordinance on Political Parties Act, 2002 (Second Amendment) brought by the Deuba government.

The government had introduced the ordinance by ending the ninth session of the federal parliament on August 16.

Meanwhile, CPN-UML Chairman and former Prime Minister KP Oli has today morning warned to obstruct the parliament session provided the defecting UML lawmakers (currently in Madhav Kumar Nepal’s CPN-Unified Socialist party) attended the session.

Speaking at a parliamentary party meeting held in Singha Durbar, UML Chair Oli had said that the smooth running of the parliament will depend on whether the UML ‘dismissed’ lawmakers will join the parliamentary session or not.

UML had dismissed 14 lawmakers including former PM Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal alleging them of violation of party discipline.
