KATHMANDU: Chairman of the CPN-UML KP Oli has lambasted the government for trying to impose authoritarianism in the country.

Coming down heavily on the Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government for trying to infringe people’s freedom of speech, Oli said, “This government is heading toward authoritarianism.”

UML Chairman also criticized Speaker Agni Sapkota for being biased and failing to maintain the dignity of his post.

“He (Speaker) seems to be working in favor of the Maoist party rather than fulfilling his duties responsibility,” Oli said while addressing a meeting of the UML Parliamentary Party held at the Parliament Building, Wednesday.
