Single bench of Justice Dhungana hearing writ against NC 14th Gen Convention



KATHMANDU: Supreme Court (SC) is hearing the writ petition filed against the ongoing 14th General Convention of Nepali Congress (NC) demanding that it be suspended.

A single bench of Justice Prakash Dhungana is scheduled to hear the writ filed by Bagmati State Assembly member Narottam Vaidya calling for suspension of the convention. The convention of the wards under the 14th General Convention which started on September 3 is now underway.

Vaidya has demanded suspension of the General Convention arguing that it will put millions of people at health risk due to COVID-19 epidemic.

The 14th General Convention of the party is scheduled to be held on November 25-29.
