Landslide kills three, sweeps away hydropower in Darchula

DARCHULA: Three persons including two of a family have been buried to death in Darchula district.

A landslide triggered by incessant rains buried a house killing two people while another died in a landslide that occurred at Chaukhutte in Naughad rural municipality-3.

The deceased have been identified as 72-year-old Geuni Thagunna and her three-month old granddaughter Manjari Thagunna, informed District Police Office, Darchula.

Similarly, a 29-year-old Laxman Sitauli of Naughad rural municipality died in a landslide, said DPO, Darchula.

Meanwhile, a hydropower with the capacity of 32 kilowatt based in Naugadh rural municipality has been swept away by the landslide.
