KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML Dispute Resolution Task Force meeting is underway at Singh Durbar.

The UML has called its task force meeting to resolve the protracted intraparty dispute.

Taskforce member Pradeep Gyawali said the yesterday’s meeting ended on positive note and today’s meeting will bring the dispute into a logical conclusion.

Leaders attending a meeting of the UML  task force yesterday had claimed that the disputes within the party were “almost resolved”.

A crucial meeting between CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal held at the Marriott Hotel in Naxal, Kathmandu on Wednesday evening ended inconclusively.

However, sources said that even though the meeting could not yield a concrete outcome, the talks were “cordial and positive”.

A leader who participated in the meeting said that no progress could be made in resolving the UML dispute as Chairman Oli did not agree on power-sharing.

The talks became inconclusive after Chairman Oli did not agree on power-sharing, the leader said.

Likewise, UML leaders Bishnu Poudel, Ishwor Pokhrel, Subash Nemwang, Bhim Rawal and Surendra Pandey also attended the meeting.
