KATHMANDU: Nepal LP Gas Industry Association has objected to the government’s decision to provide discount on gas to only the consumer of Salt Trading Corporation.

“The government decision to provide discount on gas to the consumers of Salt Trading Corporation’s gas alone is unfair and has shown injustice to 99 percent of the gas consumers in Nepal,” the association said on its statement on Tuesday.

Earlier, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, had announced to give 20 percent discount to the consumers of the gas sold by Salt Trading Corporation during the lockdown period.

According to the Association, 99 percent of the consumers in Nepal have to face injustice due to the government’s biased declaration to provide discount only to a company.

“Salt Trading Corporation has only one percent customers across the country,” the Association said ahead, “The customers of 57 gas companies have become victim of this unjust decision.”
