Former Queen Komal Shah shifted to cabin from ICU

Health status improving



KATHMANDU: Former Queen Komal Shah has been shifted from Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to cabin after a gradual improvement in her health.

Former royals including then King Gyanendra Shah, Queen Komal and their daughter Prerana Shah had been admitted to Norvic International Hospital on April 20 after testing positive for coronavirus.

The Shahs had received oxygen support for few days. With the gradual improvement in the health, former King Gyanendra and his daughter were taken to normal cabin, however, with many respiratory complications, former Queen Komal had been receiving plasma therapy treatment in ICU.

They had tested coronavirus positive after returning home from Kumbha Mela, Haridwar, India.

According to hospital sources, she was given up to 10 liters of oxygen per minute while in the ICU. At present, the hospital is giving only 5 liters of oxygen per minute and she is returning to normalcy.
