Prachanda ‘crumbled’ in 20 months: Biplav

KATHMANDU: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ said that the erstwhile CPN (Maoist Center) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has crumbled in merely 20 months.

Speaking at a program organized at Kapilvastu’s Shivagadhi Rural Municipality, on Monday, former rebel leader Biplav claimed that Prachanda’s pomp did not last long.

“Prachanda, who had once told our comrades that no one could shake him from power for 20 years, has turned to dust in just 20 months after we left,” he said, adding, “His downfall was inevitable because the path chosen by him was wrong.”

He lambasted Prime Minister KP Oli and Prachanda for their inefficiency to meet the people’s expectations.

Excited at the unity of the party, the people offered them the two-third majority in the parliament; however, the selfishness and inefficiency of the leaders shattered the people’s expectation, Chand said.
