Education Minister praises US assistance in education

KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Krishna Gopal Shrestha has said that US assistance to development of Nepal’s school sector development program and distance and basic education was significant.

At a meeting with US Ambassador to Nepal Randy Berry in the ministry this afternoon, Minister Shrestha expressed the confidence that the Nepal-US bilateral relations would further deepen in the days to come.

Expressing gratitude to the humanitarian assistance provided by the US government in the time of natural disasters and coronavirus pandemic, Minister Shrestha wished for the successful tenure of newly-elected US President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris.

On the occasion, Ambassador Berry shared that there was no change in the US policy towards Nepal.

The US has an enduring commitment to expanding learning opportunities in Nepal, the US Ambassador wrote in a Twitter post after the meeting with Minister Shrestha.
