Rain forecast in most places today; to subside from Sunday

KATHMANDU: Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has said it is raining in most parts of the country today as the impact of monsoon winds continues.

Even though it was not as heavy as on Sunday night, it has been raining continuously in some places, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

There is a possibility of heavy rain amidst thunderstorms in some places of all the provinces except Province-2 this afternoon.

According to Nirajan Sapkota, a meteorologist, it is unlikely that the rains will stop before Sunday. He further said that it would rain most of the time till Saturday evening and it would stop for a while in the afternoon. He said that the weather will gradually improve from Sunday morning.

The Department has also called for vigilance as the landslides might occur in the hilly areas and inundation in the low-lying areas due to the possibility of heavy rains.
