Two die in separate road accidents in Kathmandu Valley



KATHMANDU: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts.

A pedestrian was killed on Saturday morning after being hit by a motorcycle (State 3-02-007 Pa 6256) at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6, said the police. The deceased identified as Ram Chandra Khatri, 70, of Tarakeshwor Municipality-7 died at People’s Hospital, Naya Bazaar. The police held the driver.

Similarly, a motorcycle (Ba 49 Pa 4906) skidded off the road and met with an accident at Bhattedanda of Bagmati Rural Municipality-3 in Lalitpur district, killing the rider Niraj Khanal, said the police. Khanal, 48, of Kalanki in Kathmandu, died at Patan Hospital. The pillion rider identified as Niraj Bal is receiving treatment at the hospital.
