Prem Gaha Magar elected to lead NRNA, UK

KATHMANDU: Prem Gaha Magar has been elected the president of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), UK.

The election was held through an online voting system for the first time in the NRNA, UK. Around 11,500 had voted for the new leadership and Gaha Magar secured 4,574 votes to win the election.

Likewise, Sunil Babu Khadka and Gobinda Kharel have been elected the vice presidents with 4,169 and 3,665 votes respectively while Narayan Kandel won the election with 4,495 votes for the NRNA, UK Vice President representing Northern Ireland.

Similarly, Sakuntala Gurung is the new Women President for the Association. She secured 3,743 votes to be elected to the post. Khusi Limbu is the new General Secretary, Bishnu Chalise and Gyanendra Ale are secretaries, Bishnu Kharel is the treasurer and Shashanka Shamra is the joint-treasurer for the NRNA body.

Tirtha Bahadur Malla is the youth coordinator and Bimala Limbu is the women coordinator in the new executive committee. Upendra Poudel, Suresh Pariyar, Suman Sharma, Padam Bahadur Shahi, Indira Khaniya, Hira (Deepak) Sapkota, Chet Bahadur Rana, Champa Thapa, Bishal Rai, Bhanu Bhakta Ghimire, Bheem Khanal and Bal Krishna Dahal are the elected members on the committee.

Likewise, under the regional committee, LBZ Gurung has been elected the president for the England State Council and Kashiram Bhandari is the Present-elect for the Scotland Council, informed election observer Bhagirath Yogi.
